This is one of the best sales of the month if you’re shopping for beautiful investment pieces to add to your Fall and Winter wardrobe. It’s also the perfect time to send a hint to someone special shopping for you or get started on your own lists. I love these Toteme beanies (here in black) - they would make a great gift for a friend, mother, or sister-in-law.

A few weeks ago we were in the city and I popped in the Toteme boutique for the first time. There are so many pieces from the brand I’ve been eying this season and wanted to try a few things on. I was immediately drawn to this sweater. The color is the most gorgeous shade of cream, it’s incredibly soft, and I love the slightly wider sleeve. I recently did a huge closet clean out and sold/donated sweaters that I was no longer wearing so when I saw that this was available on Mytheresa and included in the sale I knew I had to get it. I’m saving it for postpartum (probably after Christmas) so I took my usual size in the brand which is one size down in their sweaters.

Other pieces I’m eyeing: this gorgeous Khaite tote. I have the raffia version from summer (also included in the sale) and used it everyday well into September. The leather would make a great work/travel bag! This brand is new to me but they have some beautiful knits including this olive striped on which is under $300 with the sale. Lastly if you’re looking for the perfect party dress this holiday season, THIS IS IT. My sister just wore it to a masquerade ball last weekend and it is stunning (and so fun). Very black swan!

Every year around this time I love to find the sweater (or two) that I know I’ll reach for until March. I’ve been doing this for the last few F/W seasons and the result is a collection of knits I’m still excited to pull out year after year. It’s no secret I love Toteme. Founded by one of the original Scandi cool girls Elin Kling. I remember meeting her for the first time 8+ years ago during NYFW at a Ralph Lauren show and completely embarrassing myself as I stumbled over greet her and tripped just at her feet. Not my coolest moment! Back then I read her blog “Style By Kling” religiously and she was one of the main reasons why I started Cindy Hattersley. Anyway…it’s no surprise that her line Toteme is killing it and season after season she continues to set trends and reinvent the classics in this effortlessly cool yet chic and sophisticated way. Who wouldn’t want to be all that?! My favorite place to shop Toteme (and Khaite) is MYTHERESA. Not only do they have the best assortment, they also have the best pricing (significantly less than US sites), and their complimentary expedited shipping is an unexpected luxury.

This alpaca knit feels like you’re wrapped in a teddy bear. It is incredibly soft and the richest shade of brown. I love it styled casually but it also looks great with a black slip skirt and a kitten heeled sandal. I hemmed and hawed over this striped one all last year and finally went for it last month. I love that its a modern twist on a classic striped sweater - the wide sleeves, side slits, and overall roomy fit - I know I’ll have it for years. MATERNITY STYLE

My first pregnancy related post since I announced we’re expecting! Honestly I still can’t believe it. I will definitely put together a post on our journey but for now I’m really excited to share some of my favorite maternity style tips for Fall and beyond. Its been 6 years since I last dressed a bump and in so many ways this pregnancy has felt like the first time all over again. You forget things! My biggest piece of advice is not to go out and spend a ton of money on maternity. The most important piece of the puzzle is to starts with the right basics : t-shirts, tanks, and denim, and then build from there. Once you have your foundation do as much as you can with non-maternity wear and then fill in the gaps with brands like Hatch. I’ll be updating this post throughout the next few months with ideas for evening and events but for now I wanted to focus on where to begin!

My go-to for maternity basics has always been H&M. The pieces I purchased when I was pregnant with Luke 8 years ago are still in great shape (and in style) today. They have the best t-shirt packs (neutral one here, black and white here) and coordinating sets for lounging like this ribbed pant and matching t-shirt. It’s my best kept secret! I can’t tell you how many clients I styled during their pregnancies that were blown away. Don’t spend $$$ on these items! Instead invest in items that will take you beyond birth and into fourth trimester. A few other great basics: this 5-pack of nursing tanks, this Calvin Klein nursing bra, this lace nursing bra (I’ve already started wearing and so comfortable!), and this t-shirt and legging set for all those lounge-y days around the house.

One place I will say it’s worth it to spend is on a great pair of denim. Right now that style I’m reaching for most (in general) is a more casual mom jean silhouette that is slightly cropped at the ankle. I got this pair from Paige and love them (more sizes here). I really love this wash and they feel just like my non-maternity denim.

I’ve always loved the combination of a sweater or sweatshirt layered over a slip skirt or dress for Fall. It’s so feminine and chic and looks great paired with your favorite sneakers or berks for a casual look or with a pair of suede flats for a bit more modern elegance. I love the idea of a slightly oversized sweatshirt but you can also style with a chunky knit like this one (use stephanieT15 to save).

My goal for this Fall is to continue to wear the oversized knits and open cardigans that I love and layer them over maternity basics. This cardigan is basically a 3 season piece where we live. There is nothing more classic than a striped sweater for Fall. One of my favorite brands, Toteme makes a beautiful turtleneck style in two color ways: black with an ivory stripe and ivory with a black stripe. The slightly oversized silhouette is perfect for a growing bump and looks great styled back to a pair of leggings or denim. Under $150 version here and here. If your third trimester lands during the winter months like mine here’s the look: throw a trench on and pair with sneakers and a classic handbag.

watch - Recently watched and loved. Outer Range: It’s like X Files meets Yellowstone. A touch slow in the beginning as they build the story but by the third episode I was fully invested. Now I’m impatiently awaiting a second season!

make - Awesome red wine pot roast. THIS recipe is insane. One night between Christmas and New Years when we were all sick at home with covid my dad left a dutch oven on our front steps with this pot roast. I cannot tell you how insanely delicious it was (and healing). This is soul food. I made it myself last month for dinner with friends and everyone was floored. The ingredients are pretty simple so use the best you can get! I got the beef from our local butcher and went with heirloom carrots for a little extra color. This is a must try!

shopper - How great is this shopper tote? You really could use it for almost anything…gardening, farmer’s market or light groceries. I was thinking of using it for our “to-go” bag that we bring when we go out to a restaurant. It’s always filled with books, crayons and colored pencils, stickers, etc. It was also make for a sweet summer diaper bag - just add a monogram!

bath - Ok so this is so random and another H&M Home find but I have been on the hunt for a tray like this one for the longest time! We only have one bathtub in our house and its the kid’s so I’m actually going to use it for their toys! Makes draining them really easy and then you don’t have to bother with a suction cup thing that’s constantly falling off the wall. Genius!

sofa - It’s been over a month since our new family room sofa arrived from Six Penny and I have to say we definitely made the right decision. It felt like an eternity looking for the right one and I scoured the internet to find something that checked all our boxes. What I love most about the one we ended up with is the combination of comfort and functionality. The linen/cotton combination is so soft and the floating chaise piece is always moving from one end to the other. That was a huge plus for us because I didn’t want to be married to a single shape for the next 5+ years. Highly recommend!

watch - WHOA. I watched the new Lily Collins movie Windfall this week and it was not what I expected. Actually I knew nothing about the film going in other than that when I think of Lily Collins I think of Paris and this was certainly not Emily. Five minutes in and you feel like you’re in a Hitchcock thriller. I thought the acting/casting was great (Lilly’s husband directed and definitely brought out her best) and I did not expect the ending. Curious to hear if you’ve seen it and what you all think?

make - Farmer’s market pasta primavera with goat cheese. So excited for Spring cooking, fresh basil, and farmer’s markets! This is a super easy and delicious weeknight recipe and the veggies can easily be substituted for whatever you have at home. Also not a goat cheese fan? Try parmesan or ricotta!

watch - Two things to add to your weekend watch let if you haven’t already are Gilded Age and on HBO and Netflix’s newest original film The Adam Project. Guilded Age is like Downton Abby’s younger and cooler sister in New York. Just like Downton the acting, the costumes, and the backdrop are all exquisite. A real gem if you enjoy period shows. The Adam Project is a great weekend “rental”. It’s action packed, has a great storyline (even emotional at times), and Ryan Reynolds is easy on the eyes. Click here to watch the trailer.

make - I’m always on the hunt for a protein packed breakfast that is low in sugar but still tastes good. I stopped eating eggs last year making it even harder to find a “get up and go” meal in the morning. I recently found this Green Chia Pudding recipe via goop and it is now part of my weekly rotation. Its sweetened with dates, starts your day with veggies, and checks my protein box. A morning on the go made simple!

make - No linked recipe today just my tried and true easy and quick baked salmon instructions! I usually make steamed string beans and roasted new potatoes on the side of this dish. Start with 1 1/2 lbs of wild salmon or arctic char (in season now). Place in a baking dish lined with parchment paper (makes for easier cleanup). Squeeze half of one lemon over the salmon. In a small dish combine 1/2 cup of veganaise (I like follow your heart soy free), 1/4 cup of dijon mustard, the juice of the other half of the lemon, lemon zest, salt and pepper. Spread over the fish and bake at 400 until desired doneness. Usually around 10-15 minutes. For an added crunch top with panko before cooking!

decor - How sweet are these paper eggs for Easter? I’m thinking of getting them to hand in the dining room…love the colors (neutrals of course)! Luke is at that age where he really looks forward to decorating the house for holidays and I’m trying to lean into that :)

kids - I bought the boys a few great little games for Valentine’s Day this year. Luke is really into word searches and Harry loves games like go fish and old maid. They loved these! The little ones are great to throw in your bag for restaurants or car travel!

dish - It’s the little things! Our kitchen is in need of a refresh and I’m counting down the days until we can replace the dark heavy countertops with something much lighter and brighter. Until then I found a temporary fix that blew my mind - a new dish rack! Replacing our black one with this sleek and more modern style immediately changed the space. We’ve been using it since December and I highly recommend!

make - Sheet Pan Lemon Chicken with Sweet Potatoes and Avocado Goddess Sauce. I made this during the week and it was delicious! Don’t be intimidated by the many layers - I only made the sweet potatoes, chicken, and the goddess sauce and it was great.

nook - Speaking of kitchens…I’ve been on the hunt for chairs for a little breakfast nook i’m creating. right now we only have one area for all meals and I can’t wait to have this extra space for snack time, school work, and playdates. I ordered these wishbone chairs and they’re great! Love the wood, very comfortable, and a great price!

make - The goop detox. For the last three years I have looked forward to the annual goop detox. I never follow it precisely or in full but I am always pleasantly surprised with the selection of recipes. They’re delicious, healthy yet realistic, and family-friendly. Don’t be intimidated by the number of ingredients either. This turmeric warming latte for example is still delicious minus the Sun Potion items. Some of my favorites from years prior include: banana bread porridge bowl, sheet pan haddock with salsa verde, and this Crispy Chicken Cutlets with Fennel, Apple, and Cabbage Slaw.
